Reviews > Helibeds Expensive crap disintegrating mattresses > Russell MitchellHi I saw your website about Helibeds and just had to let you know about my experience with them. In March 2004 I bought a new mattress from them it only cost £200. Then in December 2004 a large piece of metal rod ripped through the side of the mattress. On closer inspection I found the rod that makes up the mattress frame had broke. As the mattress was less than a year old I phoned Helibeds and they sent some to look at it. A few days later I got a letter from helibeds saying that they would not replace the mattress as they believe I had misused it. They claimed my bedroom was too small for a bed that size and I had too much stuff in my room. In each letter they would make up another excuse not to replace it. I even found another fault in the bed and they choose to ignore it. After a number of letters / photos from myself / my solicitors/ my credit card company and trading standards helibeds said they still would not replace it and I had wasted too much of their time and the only way they would deal with me was in court. I was in the process of moving house at this time so had to dispose of the mattress and did not take any further action. Attached you will find pictures of my mattress and the fault. I believe helibeds are rip off merchants selling rubbish. I started faxing my complaints to them and the next thing I know they had complained to my boss as I was faxing from work and the communications commission for miss use of fax. I hope this is of help to you Russell Mitchell
