Hoover HW160M Washer Dryer
Bought November 2002, cost £380
Piece of Shit
Can't speak for them all, but the one we had was a complete lemon. In 2 1/2 years it chewed up numerous pieces of clothing and broke down approximately eight times, requiring a service call. Also wasted another £140 on breakdown insurance. Service engineer advised putting all small items in wash bags to avoid them getting stuck in the works! Have given up trying to get a replacement from either Currys or Hoover and bought a proper one with a 10-year guarantee from John Lewis. Contrasts appalingly with our previous Ariston, which coped with two babies over seven years without a hitch, until it finally died of old age (seems like 1 washing machine year is equivalent to 10 human years).
