Hotel Lily, Earls Court, London SW6

What an flea pit! I stayed at Hotel lily in April 2008 as a budget alternative to the Ibis. It's like Hotel lily hasn't seen any improvements or decoration, and not much cleaning, since the 70s. In fact Hotel lily's right up there in my top three worst hotels of all time. I thought people might think I was exaggerating unless I took some photos of Hotel lily; pictures speak louder than words... so be prepared for the following facilities.

... and if you're a vegetarian, don't bother with breakfast unless you're desperate. The sole cooked option is beans on soggy-yet-stale white bread. The waiters don't know the difference, and don't offer an option between white, brown and wholemeal... You might think this would be a pretty basic thing for a waiter to know...

I get the impression that the hotel is owned by a tightfisted, possibly senile geriatric millionaire who lives off the profits and has no interest in offering even an adequate service to guests.

On the bright side, the receptionist, Nimal, is quite helpful.

(no stars)
